THE GREAT TEACHER’S WORKBOOK
Aimed at teaching the age range 10-13, in this important workbook for individual teachers and Continuing Professional Development Co-ordinators, Geoff Hannan takes his reader through his ‘golden strategies’-those proven to have the greatest impact on attainment:
enhancing and enriching holistic ethos
narrowing the gender gap
improving outcomes for the socially disadvantaged
student empowerment and Metacognitive approaches
fast tracking literacy and core skills development
powerful approaches to lesson planning and peer-based learning
and key motivational and behaviour management techniques

Fully supported by training and classroom resources in the book and on-line

Much food for thought and, more importantly, many practical and workable measures that impact directly on classroom practice and student learning which sadly appear lacking in much of the school effectiveness /school improvement literature. Your ideas and materials will be put to very good use!’
Dr. Martin Booth, Head of Department, University of Cambridge Department of Education.

I attended one of Geoff’s courses in Bristol many years ago and one of my lessons today was judged outstanding.  I have been teaching for 21 years and have attended much training of varying quality.  Geoff’s course is one I would pinpoint as having the most impact on my practice and I find myself returning to his advice and strategies time and time again.  I have delivered inset on his training using his materials and again many teachers cite it as having changed their practice fundamentally. His ideas and training materials are full of things that actually work…  Many things I have developed as a classroom teacher have their roots in Geoff’s ideas.  Thank
you so much.
MY METACOGNITIVE WORKBOOK
This fun and important workbook for 10- to 13-year-olds teaches kids:
How to learn better and do well at school
How to build their confidence and self-esteem
How to develop their life skills
How to deal with stress and anxiety
And how to enhance and sustain good mental health
It is written by Geoff Hannan: an internationally recognized authority on teaching and learning with over forty-five years’ experience in working with young people, parents and teachers.
Geoff leads the young people through written and creative activities as they become co-authors of the book and explore significant aspects of wellbeing, important ways they can build their life skills and be successful in all they do.
In the process they learn powerful strategies to aid their understandings, information recall and academic attainment.

My SMART LEARNING JOURNAL

Developed by well-known educationalist Geoff Hannan, is designed to help young people aged 10 to 13 years to be more empowered in their learning and to recall this learning better. It teaches young people some highly effective techniques for recalling and expressing facts and understandings and aids SMART target setting for themselves and by their teacher. In Geoff’s consultancy work, this simple journal has received excellent feedback from teachers, parents and young people alike. It is highly recommended for all and especially for children with additional learning needs.

Available now at Amazon or from us direct-with free Teams/Zoom CPD sessions for schools (please email for details).

Details: The book is aimed at parents and young people to read with one-another, work through and discuss together. Teachers too will find it very useful for pair work in their classrooms. It is focused primarily for the 10-13 age range but we are sure that older kids will find it relevant as well.

How it works: An introductory activity explores an important life skill and learning skill. This is followed by the young people completing a challenge throughout the coming week in order to practise and embed the skills and understandings.  There are fourteen activities and challenges in all, constituting a programme for one full school term.
