UPDATE April ‘25: INCLUSION
NARROWING GAPS- ‘CRASH COURSE’ INSETS
As well as longer talks and training in these themes, following bookers’ requests, I have distilled my best-known training courses into a series of one- hour Insets- designed to fit any CPD schedule. Each inset contains a brief introduction to the key underpinning understandings of the issues involved followed by a blitz of practical evidenced-based classroom tactics to improve learning.
Each participant receives comprehensive notes (including full academic citations), reproducible materials to use in their teaching and a monitoring pro forma to use as they test out the tactics. I also invite participants to feedback and stay in touch with me afterwards by email when they use the ideas (the uptake of this aspect has been high and participants rate this as being a very usual aspect of the training.)
FUNDING
I have some limited funding available during the Summer and Autumn Terms so schools pay just £200 plus expenses a session if I you would like me to visit your school* or £150 inclusive if I deliver remotely (plus VAT). I won’t rush off after the hour! Happy to stay for Q&As or to provide related individual support at no extra charge.

Having worked in and advised various governments in this area for more than forty-five years I have a thorough knowledge of this subject matter and, most importantly, how to translate this knowledge into everyday teaching. I would also be happy to develop a bespoke inset for your school.
